News Flash

From the Editor

In an effort to minimize the number of emails to you, we consolidate "news" emails that go to the membership. Once a month, we have the MCC Newsletter, which is very well received.

On an as needed basis, we will periodically send out a News Flash such as this during the month.

Feel free to comment & critique at  info at

Pairings Posted after delay

Due to multiple little process breaks over the course of the evening, the wrong files were sent to the web team after the event last Tuesday night.  We had to wait till someone could get back to the club and get the correct files to then send to the web team for posting.  We're not sure but we think this is only the second time results have not been posted the night of the event due to human error since we started posting results in mid 1997.  It should be noted that on occasion there may be internet connectivity or web server maintenance issues that will prevent us from getting the results posted by the next day.

MCC Record Attendance for 2nd month in a row

For the those who haven't been paying attention to the activities of the club lately, our attendance last month sneaked past our previous record of 82 to set a new high at 83 players.  This month we started out at just under that and now have pushed beyond that for a new all time attendance record at the club of 89.

To see how our attendance has been progressing in an upward trend for some time, you can quickly see how we've been doing lately by clicking on the home page link titled   "How many Play?"  For other views of the same information visit our demographics pages.

Here is the link to our Demographics page which has all the Graphs including the "How many Play?" mentioned above.

June Supplement available soon

Just a note that the June Supplement of ratings will be available to us sometime next week.  Once it is available, the web team will update the ratings on the list of active club players which you can reach from the link "Who is Playing" on the home page.  The ratings from this supplement will be used for all players, starting June 1st until the next supplement date of August 1st.  For those who have been un-rated for several months, you will finally have a non-zero rating for use in rated events.

Remember to check back next week to see if you've move up or down on the list of club players when we all get our new ratings.

Remember you can find a copy of all the News Flashes and Newsletters by clicking the Newsletter link on the home page.
